Michelle my colleague arrived work  early today which is very much unlike her though she had been scolded before now . We met during break   and  out of curiosity, I asked her about the sudden change.

Hear her :

I have always love to be punctual to work but you know  that issue we discussed about- my inability to sleep for some days now and the sleeping pills you dissuaded me from using. The solutions you proposed actually worked hence I came early to work today(smiling).

You know what? Michelle sleep disorder wasn’t new to us as her colleagues.

Are you like Michelle who is finding it difficult to sleep?

Sleep is an important part of our lifestyle After the day’s activities everyone looks forward to that time when we shut our eyes away from the cares of the world and drives off to dreamland.

There is nothing worse than not being able to get to sleep when we go to bed. I mean, we have had a hard day and know we have to be up early the next morning. We feel tired, but we just can’t switch off – and it drives us insane.

Sleep experts suggest that irregular sleeping patterns or even insomnia can be triggered from factors such as depression, stress and anxiety.Pain medications, antihistamines and other medicines can also contribute to sleep loss.

so what are the solutions i gave Michelle?

Banana Tea and Banana smoothie

Bananas are so inexpensive, people buy a lot of them at once. They are so good for you! They’re high in fiber and a variety of other healthy nutrients, including magnesium and potassium.

Because we all buy them in big bunches, though, the inevitable problem is that we sometimes end up with more bananas than we’re going to eat.

1.BANANA TEA

This organic, banana-infused sleep remedy works wonders and tastes so good. How does it work?

Bananas, especially the peels, are loaded with potassium and magnesium. While magnesium helps prevent sleep disturbances, both        magnesium and potassium work together to help relax muscles which makes this a perfect bedtime drink

Ingredients
  • Organic banana
  • Small pot of water
  • Dash of cinnamon

Keep in mind, this recipe calls for 100% organic bananas. Bananas that are not organic are loaded with harmful pesticides and since we encourage you to eat the boiled peel, it must be chemical-free.

 Instructions

  • Gather supplies
  • Boil water
  • Cut both ends off banana
  • Place banana (with peel still on) into boiling water
  • Boil for 10 minutes
  • Using a colander, pour banana tea into mug
  • Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon into tea
  • Drink it an hour before bed

Once you strain out the banana from the water, don’t throw it away! Sprinkle some cinnamon over the banana and eat it as well.

The boiled banana will add to the soothing effects of the tea, and it’s delicious!

2. Banana Smoothie Recipe

Banana smoothies provide vitamin D and calcium. According to a study published in the Journal of Sleep Research, vitamin D and  calcium decrease the risk of insomnia by 17% and 16% respectively.
